For a former pracharak of the RSS, where volunteers are supposed to lead a spartan life, Narendra Modi does have some style. Supporters marvel at his impeccable dress sense, be it his trademark half-sleeved kurtas, or the suits stitched for him by Jade Blue, an exclusive men's wear outlet.

As organising secretary of the Gujarat BJP over a decade ago, Modi used to ride a Bajaj scooter to reach the party office from his modest room in Maninagar. Now, of course, he speeds past in a fleet of Tata Safaris with tinted glass.

Modi has been a regular at Jade Blue for years. Now, its owner Jitu Chouhan goes to the CM's residence in Gandhinagar with his best tailor to take measurements whenever the CM feels like refurbishing his wardrobe.

Sandals are regularly purchased from Chavdas, a swanky footwear shop in Ahmedabad. For personal grooming, Modi relies only on Shabbirbhai, a barber outside the RSS headquarters.

Modi's an early riser and begins surfing newspaper websites on his laptop at 5 am. After sending mails by 7.30 am, he either jogs or does yoga for about 35-40 minutes.

Meals are simple Gujarati fare. During the Navratris, he fasts for all the nine days. He likes to watch cricket whenever the big matches are played in Gujarat. Beyond that, he does not have any hobbies.

Whenever he finds time from work, which involves an average 12 hours in office, Modi loves to visit Sanskar Dham, a boarding school set up by him and run by the RSS near Sanand on the outskirts of Ahmedabad. He does not own a house but has personal accommodation within Sanskar Dham.
