Narendra  ModiGujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi who started blogging in the run up to the general elections this year has now started writing poems for his net fans.

Modi’s first poem on cyber space ‘how and when did you become a poet’ (posted today on his official blog – www. narendramodi. com) interestingly is devoted to describe how a poem and a poet are born and the emotions involved.

According to sources (close to him), the poem was written in response to a query he received from one of his net-fans who wanted to know how he became a poet.

This was confirmed by Atul Patel, the doctor at a government civil hospital on Friday morning.

The chief minister who returned from his three day-visit to Russia on Wednesday worked through Thursday attending his official engagements, despite feeling tired and coughing frequently.

After returning from Russia two days back, the 59-year-old Modi had been suffering from cough, cold and fever, officials said.

Dr. Atul Patel, one of the four physicians in the group looking after Modi, said that blood samples of the minister taken for investigation yesterday, confirmed the presence of the H1N1 virus.

Reports about Modi being infected with H1N1 virus had started coming up on Thursday evening. But, the government had denied confirming it.

Narendra ModiGujarat chief minister Narendra Modi on Friday tested positive for swine flu, two days after returning from Russia.

The team of doctors attending the BJP leader at his official residence in Gandhinagar said he was responding well to treatment and recovering fast.

“He’s under medication and will require rest for a few days,” Ravi Saxena, principal secretary, health, Gujarat, told HT.

Gujarat has reported 40 swine flu deaths so far.

Narendra  Modi likely to resume work FridayGandhinagar, Nov 4 : Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi, who was diagnosed with swine flu last week, has recovered and is expected to resume office work Friday, officials said Wednesday.

Diagnosed with Influenza A (H1N1) virus late Thursday following his return from Russia, 60-year-old Modi has shown rapid recovery.

He was declared "completely healthy" by the team of doctors attending on him Tuesday, but has been advised rest until Thursday when his week-long period of "isolation" end

Narendra  Modi Gandhinagar, Nov 5 : Gujarat's principal health secretary is down with swine flu and is among several top officials to be quarantined even as Chief Minister Narendra Modi has recovered from it and is getting ready to join office Friday.

Ravi Saxena, principal secretary, health, has tested positive for the H1N1 virus. He has been quarantined at his residence in Ahmedabad. Health commissioner Mukesh Puri has tested negative, but has been isolated as he was in close touch with Saxena.

Narendra Modi  Gandhinagar, Nov 8 : Gujarat Chief Minister Narendra Modi reshuffled the top brass of the state administration, transferring 80 bureaucrats and 19 police officers in one sweep late Saturday.

The transfers came within a day of chief minister resuming office Friday.

Among those transferred were 36 officers of the rank of secretary and principal secretary and 44 district level officers and 19 police officers.
