BJP rebels have taken their arms up against Narendra Modi in Gujrat and pledged to depose him from his position in coming assembly elections of the state.

Rebels along with the former opponents, congress and other groups called him ‘Duryodhan’ who was sent to Gujrat by ‘Dhritrashtra’ Advani.

Farmers’ rally organized at Rajkot which attracted around 2.5 lakhs people mainly from Kutch and Saurashtra turned into a ‘Modi oust campaign’. Rally was attended by mainly two farmer communities Patel and Koli who are considered in a position to change the elections statistics of the state. Congress MLA from Dhoraji and a great leader of Patels Vitthal Radadia, BJP MPs Somabhai patel and Rajkot MP Dr. Valabh Kataria also attended the meeting.

BJP dissidents, congress members launched a fierce attack on Modi government for neglecting farmers community and following anti-farmer policy. They accused that Modi government patronized industrialists at the cost of the farmers. Rally leaders urged people to oust Modi from the Government and vote for congress. They pledged that they would do so at all costs in view that assembly elections are due in December.

BJP MPs Soma Patel and Vallabh Kataria threw a challenge before party to suspend them. Suspended MLA from Rajkot Siddharth Parmar and his fellow from Surat told that BJP is no more BJP in Gujarat but a private company of Modi. A resolution regarding the oust of Modi was also passed by the meeting.

Narendra Modi vs. Keshubhai Patel

Narendra Modi vs. Keshubhai Patel

Keshubhai Patel has attacked the pro-hindutva firebrand Narendra Modi. In a major discordance with the Modi he attacked the way of functioning of his government.

Keshubhai Patel in a function organized by rebel minister in Surat showed his strife towards Modi government after the flag hoisting ceremony.

He in an open statement accused Modi’s government as autocratic without taking his name directly. For the first time Keshubhai has come out openly against Modi surprising the BJP high command. This unrest was started long before.

He accused Modi as not giving importance to people’s problem but instead industrialist got all the preferences.

After the defeat of bi-election in 2001, Keshubhai Patel was asked to make way to Narendra Modi. He braved Gordhan Zadafiya, Dhirubhai Gajera and Bavku Undhad’s courage .Gordan Zadafiya has told that he is ready to face consequences for 2002 riots and took moral responsibility for what he has done. He revealed that he was only following the Chief Minister’s order and it was his constitutional duty.

Keshubhai cried of lack of internal democracy in Gujarat. He pointed that though party took action against indiscipline but not to those who were unjust to people. He told people to open up and decide what they want on this Independence Day. He accused BJP meeting as it also sidelined those who spoke against Modi.

Keeping in view the upcoming election this unrest in the party could prove fatal for Narendra Modi. As Keshubhai Patel has come out openly to support the suspended BJP Leaders, it will be a major concern for party high command who is trying to suppress the rebellious member from time to time.

New Delhi, Sep 3 (ANI): The Supreme Court has issued notices to Gujarat Government and Chief Minister Narender Modi on a petition seeking CBI inquiry into an alleged fake encounter in which a youth was killed in 2004.

The petition filed by Kerala-based M R Gopinath Pillai alleged that his son Pranesh Kumar Pillai alias Javed Shaikh was gunned down by the Gujarat police for having links with terrorist groups but even four years after the incident there was no evidence to the effect.

A Bench comprising Justices Tarun Chatterjee and Aftab Alam also sought response from state Home Minister Amit Shah relating to the 15th June 2004 police encounter in which Javed along with three persons including a woman were killed in Ahmedabad.

The court also issued a notice to the state government on another petition filed by poet and lyricist Javed Akhtar seeking a probe by a special investigation team into the alleged fake encounters in Gujarat claiming that innocent people, particularly from Muslim community, were being targeted as terrorists.

The petition citing news reports and a sting operation done by a news magazine into the killing of criminal Sameer Khan in October 2002, alleged it was a fake encounter and there was an attempt by the Gujarat government to hush up the incident.

Khan, who was in police custody, was killed on the intervening night of 21st -22nd October 2002 when he allegedly snatched the revolver of a policeman who had accompanied him with a team to a spot where he had murdered a constable.

An FIR was registered alleging that Khan was involved in a conspiracy hatched by Pakistan's ISI and Jaish-e-Mohammed to assassinate Modi and other leaders.

Akhtar, who jointly filed the petition alongwith social activist Shabnam Hashmi, alleged it was the same team of Gujarat police which had killed Soharabuddin Sheikh in the fake encounter and later murdered his wife Kauser Bi.

Both the petitions of Pillai and Akhtar were filed in May 2007 when the apex court was hearing the petition relating to the killing of Soharabuddin Sheikh in a fake encounter.

Later, the court without issuing any notice, had tagged Pillai's petition with the matter of Soharabuddin Sheikh.

The petition of Pillai ,filed through advocate Deepak Prakash, alleged that officials of Gujarat police murdered his son on 15th June 2004 in the guise of an encounter which was planned and executed by them with the motive of enhancing the political image of Chief Minister. (ANI)
