The election campaigning has been kickstarted with verbal attack and counter attack between Congress and the BJP in Gujarat. Gujarat CM Narendra Modi verbally attacked on Congress president and in return Gujrat Congress leader declared Modi born in gutter.
Now, it was turn of Modi again and he dared Congress to declare the name of party’s chief-ministerial candidate in Gujarat. Modi has spoken about the Ram Setu and the development of Gujarat at the same time from the same platform. His message is clear that he is not going to miss any single opportunity to regain the power in state and for that he would use the power of ideology and the advantages of development of state as well.
Modi started the poll campaigning from Amreli, said to be the BJP rebel heartland, on Monday and opted to just ignore the dissidents and said nothing on rebel their activities in the constituency. Modi addressed the large gathering including ticket aspirants from across Saurashtra-Kutch at Forward High School ground and called himself the only “full time CM” in India committed to the development of Gujarat.
He also termed the election in Gujarat as a battle between positive and negative forces, a battle between development and personal interests. Various leaders from Saurashtra-Kutch including BJP state president Purshottam Rupala, Vaju Vala, Dilip Sanghani, presidents of various district units of BJP and MLAs from different constituencies were present at the rally.
Modi said:
I have no family, no son and no son-in-law. Perhaps I am the only full-time CM in the country. Other CMs have responsibilities of family and loved ones, have to attend parties, they are 80 per cent CMs.
The Congress has only one agenda, Remove Modi. But the party is yet to show who is the alternative to Modi. The Congress has not even named its CM candidate. It has no leader.
While addressing the large public gathering, Modi took the credit for various government schemes implemented during his tenure. He said that he worked for the development of state day and night. He criticized the UPA government for putting question against the existence of Lord Ram.
He asked from the audience:
Do you believe that Ram was born? Do you believe he got married to Sita? Do you believe Lord Ram built a bridge to reach Lanka and killed Ravana?
The large gathering answered every question in yes loudly. When the crowd answered in yes he told the people:
This is what the Congress doesn’t know.
He asked the people to teach Congress a lesson by uprooting it from politics for doubting Lord Ram’s existence.
Modi is a real crowd puller leader. People love to hear him at rallies. He has started playing the Hindutva card with the stories of development he has done in Gujarat. It will be interesting to see how Congress would counter his election rallies to score over Modi’s magic in Gujarat.
